SiO means Silicon Oxide

Silicon valency = +4
Oxygen valency = -2

Since both are unequal, there won't be a stable bonding. To overcome this problem, two oxygen would be required.

Valency of 2 Oxygen = 2 x -2 = -4

Hence the correct compound will be SiO2. (Silicon Dioxide)

Durgachoudhury: oooooooooo
Durgachoudhury: but depending upon the oxidation state i want the answer
