if the density of the object is more than the fluid then it will sink and if the density of the object is less than the fluid it will float...

The conditions necessary for a body to float or sink in a fluid is as follows:-

i) If the upthrust force is greater than the weight of the body, then it will float with partly immersed inside the liquid and if upthrust force is equal to the weight of the body, then also it will float by totally immersed inside the liquid.

ii) If the weight of the body is greater than the upthrust force, then it will sink.
