1.Presence of combustible substance.
2.Presence of the supporter of combustion.
3.Attainment of ignition or kindling temperature of the combustible substance.

The conditions for combustion to take place are as follows :-


(i) Flammable environment or presence of air or oxygen.

The first condition should be the presence of a flammable environment. Only then will the substance catch fire .


(ii) Ignition temperature .

The minimum ignition temperature should be crossed in order to catch fire.

For example : paper would not catch fire if the ignition temperature of paper is not sufficient .


(iii) Presence of flammable material .

Fuel or any flammable substance should be present for efficient combustion.


These are the conditions for combustion to take place.
