The constitution of India was prepared on November 26, 1949 but it came into force on Jan. 26, 1950. Why the date of Jan. 26 was fixed ?Comment.

When India got independence and the process of making the constitutionwas over on 26 Nov 1949, it was decided that there could be no better day than 26 January for Republic ofIndia to come into being. P.S.- In his famous speech "Tryst with destiny" , Nehru refers to the day of adoption of resolution of poorna swaraj.
