Reverend Bishop:
I hope this letter of mine in a state of perfect peace and divine blessedness under the love of God. I, a completely transformed man by your grace and divinity am enjoying quite a happy and prosperous life with your blessings. I feel immensely happy to share with you that the candlesticks that you gave me to start anew, I am well-established in life now (all because of your grace and blessings). God has blessed me with abundance of health, wealth and happiness. Inspired by you, I have started a reformatory for ex-convicts.
The ex-convicts are treated with same love and care with which you treated me and transformed me. You are the inspiration behind it. My aim is to help ex-convict transform themselves into better human being. You will be glad to know that I have reclaimed the candlesticks back from the person I had sold them to. They have been placed in the reformatory’s chapel as a sign of your blessings to all the inmates. I strongly feel they have alchemical powers in them and whosoever will come under their influence will be changed. I request you to please grace the reformatory with your divine visit whenever you visit Paris. Looking forward to your blessings!
Yours humbly,
Jean Valjean
