(a) is the correct answer

proof: when a ball is thrown upward against gravitaional force and when it reaches the highest height then the velocity is zero but the acceleration is not zero but it is rhe acceleration due to gravity every time

Answer:

a]

  • an object can have zero velocity and still be accelerating simultaneously. Let us consider an object moving in the forward direction.
  • Now, suddenly a force acts on it and tries to accelerate the object in the reversed direction. While observing the object, you will find that the object will continue to move forward for some time and then stops instantly. Then the object will start to move in the backward direction
  • Thus, even though the velocity of an object at rest must be zero, acceleration can clearly be non-zero for objects at rest.
