Solution,

We can solve the question using the following steps:
Let the cost of one table be $x$ and the cost of one chair be $y$.

Now,

The cost of 3 tables and 4 chairs is = Rs. 2500

⇒ $3x + 4y = 2500$    ----------- (1)

The cost of 4 tables and 3 chairs is = Rs. 2400

⇒$4x + 3y = 2400$      ----------- (2)

Solving equations (1) and (2),

Multiplying equation (1) with 4 and equation (2) with 3,

$12x + 16y = 10000$  or $12x = 10000 - 16y$ ------------- (3)

$12x + 9y = 7200$  or $12x = 7200 - 9y$     ------------- (4)

From equations (3) and (4),

$10000 - 16y = 7200 - 9y$

⇒ $2800 = 7y$

⇒$y = 400$

Substituting the value of $y$ in equation (1),

$3x + 4(400) = 2500$

⇒$3x = 900$

⇒$x = 300$

Hence, the cost of each table is Rs. 300 and the cost of each chair is Rs. 400.
