cost of chocolate =(x+y) Rs
no. of chocolates=(x+y)
total amount paid by him= cost of 1 chocolate×no. of chocolates

=(x+y)(x+y)=x^2+y^2+2xy
if x=10 and y=5

then amount will be 10^2+5^2+2(10)(5)
=100+25+100=250Rs

thanks

Answer:

The cost of (x+y) chocolates = rs. 289

Step-by-step explanation:

No. of chocolates =(x+y)

Cost of chocolates=(x+y)

Cost of (x+y) chocolates = (x+y)(x+y)

If x=10 and y=7

(10+7)(10+7)

10(10+7) +7(10+7)

100+70+70+49

= Rs. 289
