The cost of a cricket bat is $290 and a pair of cricket gloves is 1/2 the cost of a bat. If a customer buys a helmet, which costs $540 each, he/she will get a pair of gloves free. Moses left the store with 5 helmets and 10 pairs of gloves. Additionally, for every $1000 spent a customer gets $50 off. How much money did Moses spend?

From the question

Given,

Cost of cricket bat = $290

Cost of helmet = $540

●cost of pair of glove = 1/2 × 290$ = $145

cost of 5 helmets = 5 × 540 = $2700

●For buying 5 helmets he gets 5 pairs of gloves free

The cost of remaining 5 pairs of gloves = 145 × 5 = $725

Total cost = $(725+2700) = $3425

For every $1000 he/she get $50 off.

so by dividing money

$3425

=1000 + 1000 + 1000 + 425

=1000-50 + 1000 -50 + 1000 -50 +425

=3425 - 150

=$3275

so moses spents $3275
