Let the cost of the TV set is Rs.x.
∴, cost of the VCR = 2x-1600.
Then according to the question,
x+(2x-1600)=27800
or, 3x-1600=27800
or, 3x=27800+1600
or, 3x=29400
or, x=29400/3
or, x=9800
Cost of the TV = Rs.9800 and cost of the VCR=(2×9800)-1600=19600-1600
=18000. Ans.

first
tv+vcr=27800. -1
second
vcr=2tv-1600. -2
put 2 in 1
tv+2tv-1600=27800
3t=29400
tv=9800
/the cost of tv is 9800/
substitute value of tv in 1
we get
9800+vcr=27800
vcr=18000
/the cost of vcr is 27800/
