Let the width of the room be x m.
Length of the room =15m
Area of the room =(15×x)m sq
Area of one carpet (strips of carpet are used)=(15×0.75)m sq
No.of carpet required = (15x÷11.25)=4x/3
Cost of carpeting =(length of carpet)×(no.of carpet)×(rate of carpeting)
=> 19200=15×4x/3×80
=> 19200=1600x
=> x=19200/1600
=> x= 12
Therefore, the width of the room is 12 m.
