The cost of carpeting a room 20 metres long is Rs.40. Had the breadth been 3 metres less, the cost could have been Rs.25. Find the area of room.

area=l*b=20x
cost=40
rate=cost/area=40/20x=2/x
new breadth=x-3
new area=20x-60
new cost=25
cost=rate*area
25=2/x*20x-60
25x=40x-120
15x=120
x=8
breadth=8
area=l*b=20*8=160m^2
