The cost of digging a well after every meter of digging, when it costs Rs 150 for the first meter and rises by Rs 50 for each subsequent meter.

you didn't mention the amount of land dug. so let the amount be x metres for our convenience.

so the first metre dug = 150 rupees

so we have to = 150+ (50x)

let us say x=10

so,

150+(50x10)= 650 ruppees
