Dear Student,

◆ Answer -

Hypotenuse = 75 km

● Explanation -

Area of the triangular park is -

Area of park = total cost of levelling / rate of levelling

Area of park = 2700 / 2

Area of park = 1350 sq.km

But area of right angled triangle is -

Area of park = 1/2 × base × height

1350 = 1/2 × 45 × height

height = 1350×2/45

height = 60 km

Length of hypotenuse is calculated by -

Hypotenuse = √(45^2 + 60^2)

Hypotenuse = √(2025 + 3600)

Hypotenuse = √(5625)

Hypotenuse = 75 km

Hence, length of hypotenuse is 75 km.

Thanks dear. Hope this helps you...

The hypotenuse of right angled triangle=75 km

Step-by-step explanation:

Cost of levelling a park=Rs 2,700

Cost of 1 square km=Rs 2

One side of triangle=45 km

Area of  levelling park=\frac{2700}{2}=1350 km^2

Area of triangle=\frac{1}{2}\times base\times height

Area of park=\frac{1}{2}\times 45\times height

1350=\frac{45}{2}\times height

Height=\frac{1350\times 2}{45}=60 km

In right triangle

Pythagoras theorem

(hypotenuse)^2=(base)^2+(Perpendicular\;side)^2

Using the formula

(Hypotenuse)^2=(45)^2+(60)^2=2025+3600=5625

Hypotenuse=\sqrt{5625}=75 km

Hence, the hypotenuse of right angled triangle=75 km
