Answer:

90 cents

Step-by-step explanation:

Define x

Let the old price last week be x cents per liter

New price this week is increased by 2 cents

Therefore new price this week = x + 2

Find the total cost of petrol bought this week in term of x

He bought 10 liters at the new price, (x + 2)

Total cost of the petrol = 10(x + 2)

Solve x

The total cost is $9.20 which is 920 cents

10(x + 2) = 920

x + 2 = 92

x = 90 cents

Find the old price for 1 liter

Old price = x cents = 90 cents

Answer: 90 cents per liter
