Solution:

Given:

  • The length of rectangle=15m
  • The breadth of rectangle=20m
  • The cost of ploughing rate=Rs.20perm²

To Find:

  • Total cost of ploughing field

According to the above information.

  • If length is increased by 20% and breadth by 25% in the rectangle
  • The new length of rectangle=15×120/100=18m
  • The new breadth of rectangle=20×125/100=25m

Now, Find Area of rectangle,

\sf{\longrightarrow Area=length*breadth}

\sf{\longrightarrow Area=18*25}

\sf{\longrightarrow Area=450\:m^2}

Given,The cost of ploughing rate of field is Rs.20/m²

Hence,

\sf{\longrightarrow Total\: cost\:of\: ploughing=450*20}

\sf{\longrightarrow Total\: cost\:of\: ploughing=9000}

Solution :

\bf{\red{\underline{\bf{Given\::}}}}

The cost of ploughing a rectangular field whose length is 15 m and breadth is 20 m is Rs.20/m². If the length of rectangle increased by 20% and breadth by 25%.

\bf{\red{\underline{\bf{To\:find\::}}}}

The cost of ploughing field now.

\underbrace{\bf{1_{st}\:Case\::}}}}}

  • Length of rectangular field is 15 m.
  • Length increased by 20% of field.

So, we need have to find new length of the rectangular field :

\mapsto\sf{15\times (20\%+100\%)}\\\\\\\mapsto\sf{15\times \dfrac{20}{100} +100}\\\\\\\mapsto\sf{\cancel{15}\times \dfrac{\cancel{12}\cancel{0}}{\cancel{10}\cancel{0}} }\\\\\\\mapsto\sf{(3\times 6)m}\\\\\\\mapsto\sf{\pink{18\:m}}

\underbrace{\bf{2_{nd}\:Case\::}}}}}

  • Breadth of rectangular field is 20 m.
  • Breadth increased by 20% of field.

So, we need have to find new breadth of the rectangular field :

\mapsto\sf{20\times (25\%+100\%)}\\\\\\\mapsto\sf{20\times \dfrac{25}{100} +100}\\\\\\\mapsto\sf{\cancel{20}\times \dfrac{125}{\cancel{10}\cancel{0}} }\\\\\\\mapsto\sf{\cancel{\dfrac{125}{5} }}\\\\\\\mapsto\sf{\pink{25\:m}}

A/q

We know that formula of the area of rectangle :

\bf{\boxed{\bf{Area\:of\:rectangle=Length\times breadth\:\:\:\:(sq.unit)}}}}

\longrightarrow\sf{Area_{field}=New\:length\times New\:breadth}\\\\\longrightarrow\sf{Area_{field}=(18\times 25)m^{2} }\\\\\longrightarrow\sf{\pink{Area_{field}=450\:m^{2} }}

\underline{\underline{\sf{The\:cost\:of\:ploughing\:field\:now\::}}}}}}

\longrightarrow\sf{1m^{2} =Rs.20}\\\\\longrightarrow\sf{450m^{2} =Rs.(20\times 450)}\\\\\longrightarrow\sf{\green{Total\:cost\:=Rs.9000}}
