hey mate here is your answer.

let cost of one book be x and the no. of books be y

according to first condition

x × y= 60

y=60 /x

and,

according to second condition.

x-1=5+y

substituting value of y in second equation we get,

x+1=5+ 60/x

on solving equation we get x =10.

the cost of books = rs.10

the no of books = y= 60/x= 60/10= 6

hope it helps you.
