Hey Pretty Stranger!

 \large \bold \red{Here \: you \: go! \: }

C.P of 8 fans = S.P of 5 fans

Let the cost price of 8 fans be x

Selling price of 5 fans = x

Cost price of one fan = x/5

Selling price of one fan = x/8

Loss on one fan = CP - SP

 \sf \:  \dfrac{x}{5}  -  \dfrac{x}{8}

 \sf \:  \dfrac{8x - 5x}{40}

 \sf \:  \dfrac{3x}{40} \:  (Loss)

Loss Percentage :

 \dfrac{Loss}{C.P} \times 100

 \dfrac{3x}{40}  \div  \dfrac{x}{5} \times 100

 \cancel \dfrac{3x}{40}  \times   \cancel\dfrac{5}{x} \times 100

 \dfrac{300}{8}  =  \boxed{37.5\%}
