then, the cost price of trouser = (100+x) rs

so,

the cost of shirt and trouser=400 rs

=> x+(100+x)=400

=> x+100+x=400

=> 2x + 100 = 400

=> 2x= 400-100=300

=> x= 300/2

=> x = 150 rs
