hey there !!

let's check this question's solution :-

_________________________

given :-

the cost price of TV = rs 22,000

now ,

according to question ,

shopkeeper increased its price by 15% ,

so ,.
the increment in price of TV =22,000×15/100 = 3,300

now,

the total price of the TV = rs 25,300

now ,

he sold TV at 20% discount ,

so ,

price of discount = 25,300×20/100 = 5060 ,,

so

new price after discount = 20,240

now ,

the loss price = cost price- sales price

loss = 22,000-20,240

loss = 1760

therefore ,.

loss percent = 1760/22000 × 100 = 8%
now ,

the option 4) is matching to our answer which is 8% , so , you must go through option 4).

that's it :-

The actual loss for the shopkeeper is 8%.

According to the question,

The shopkeeper increased the price of the T.V set by 15% ,

The increment in the price of the T.V. set ;

= 22,000 × 15 / 100

= RS. 3,300

Now , the total price of the TV set

= 22,000 + 3,300

= Rs.25,300

Again , it is given that the TV set is sold at a discount of 20%

The price of discount ;

25,300 × 20 / 100

⇒ Rs. 5060

The price of the TV set after discount;

⇒25,300 - 5,060

⇒RS. 20,240...........(1)

FROM equation (1), we can say that the selling price of the TV set is 20,240.

The loss in selling of the TV set is ;

= 22,000 - 20,240

=Rs. 1,760

The loss percent :

⇒ (1,760 / 22,000) × 100

⇒ 8%

∴ The actual loss for the shopkeeper is 8%.
