using area of trapezium formula
0.5 x sum of parallel sides x height
the area is 66.5 sq.m

Answer:

The area of cross section is  66.5 m^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : AB = 14 m

         AD = 1.5 m

        BC = 8 m

To Find : Area of cross section

Solution:

Area of trapezium = \frac{1}{2} \times \text{Sum of parallel Sides} \times Height

                                = \frac{1}{2} \times (AD+BC) \times AB

                                = \frac{1}{2} \times (1.5+8) \times 14

                                = 66.5 m^2

Hence The area of cross section is  66.5 m^2
