Given,

The reaching time = 5⅚ days

The returning time = 6⅙ days

To find,

The longer time that is needed for the returning trip.

Solution,

We can easily solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical formula. (Only normal arithmetic method is necessary.)

First of all, we need to simplify the values

Reaching time = 5⅚ days = 35/6 days

Returning time = 6⅙ days = 37/6 days

Time difference = Returning time - Reaching time

= 37/6 - 35/6

= (37-35)/6

= 2/6

= 1/3 day

Hence,1/3 day longer time was taken during the return trip.
