Hello friend....!!!

• in common base transistor : current gain is,

α =Ic / Ie ,

here 'Ic' represents current through collector and ' Ie' represents current through emitter

In the question it is given,

α = 0.99.
Ie = 5mA

Therefore,

Ic = α x Ie

Ic = 0.99 * 5mA

Ic = 4.95mA.
