GIVEN:

  • CSA of Cylinder = 1210 cm²
  • Diameter = 20 cm

TO FIND:

  • What is the height and volume of the cylinder ?

SOLUTION:

Let the height of the cylinder be 'h' cm

Radius = Diameter/2 = 20/2 = 10 cm

We know that the formula for finding the CSA of Cylinder is:-

\large{\boxed{\bf{\star \: CSA = 2 \pi r h \: \star}}}

According to question:-

\sf{\longmapsto 1210 = 2 \times \dfrac{22}{7} \times 10 \times h }

\sf{\longmapsto 1210 = \dfrac{440}{7} \times h }

\sf{\longmapsto \dfrac{1210 \times 7}{440} = h }

\sf{\longmapsto 2.75 \times 7 = h }

\bf{\longmapsto 19.25 \: cm = h }

  • Height = 19.25 cm

Now, we have to find the volume of the cylinder:-

\large{\boxed{\bf{\star \: VOLUME = \pi r^2 h \: \star}}}

According to question:-

\sf{\longmapsto VOLUME = \dfrac{22}{7} \times (10)^2 \times 19.25}

\sf{\longmapsto VOLUME = \dfrac{423.5}{7} \times 100 }

\sf{\longmapsto VOLUME = \dfrac{42350}{7} }

\bf{\longmapsto VOLUME = 6050 \: cm^3}

  • VOLUME = 6050 cm³
