According to the question-
curved surface area of cylinder =2π{y×y
-(7y+12)}
2πrh=2π{y×y-(7y+12)}
rh=y×y-7y+12
(y-3)h=(y-3)(y-4)
h=(y-4)

Therefore, height of cylinder is (y-4)

Step-by-step explanation:

curved sirface area of cylinder=2π[(y×y)-(7y+12)]

=2πr×h=2π[(y×y)-7y+12]

r×h=y×y-7y+12

(y-3)h=(y-3)(y-4)

h=(y-4)
