Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

CSA of cylinder = 88cm2

height of cylinder = 14cm

CSA of cylinder = 2 x 22/7 x r x h

2 x 22/7 x r x h = 88

2 x 22/7 x r x 14 = 88

2 x 22 x r x 2 = 88

4 x 22 x r = 88

88 x r = 88

r = 88/88

r = 1cm

Given:-

  • Curved surface area of cylinder = 88cm²
  • Height of the cylinder = 14cm

To find:-

  • Find the diameter of the cylinder..?

Solutions:-

  • Let the radius of the cylinder by r cm.

Curved surface area of cylinder = 2πrh

=> 88 = 2 × 22/7 × r × 14

=> 88 = 44 × r × 2

=> 88 = 88r

=> r = 88/88

=> r = 1cm

So, Diameter => 2r

=> 2 × 1

=> 2cm

Hence, the diameter of the base of the cylinder is 2cm.

More Information:-

Volume of cylinder ( Area of base × height ).

= (πr²) × h

= πr²h

Curved surface = ( Perimeter of base ) × height.

= (2πr) × h

= 2πrh

Total surface are = Area of circular ends + curved surface area.

= 2πr² + 2πrh

= 2πr(r + h)

Where, r = radius of the circular base of the cylinder.

h = height of cylinder.
