assumed mean (a) = 1000

di = -400, -200, 0, 200, 400

h = 200

ui = -2, -1, 0, 1, 2

fiui = -12, -8, 0, 9, 14

£fiui = 3

£fi = 40

mean = a + (£fiui/£fi)×h

1000+ ( 3/40)×200

= 1000+15
