some bacteria like azatobacter and nitrobacter decompose it into manure which contain nutrients

Chemical reaction for an exothermic reaction can be of the following type:

\mathrm{C}_{5} \mathrm{H}_{12} \mathrm{O}_{5}(\mathrm{aq})+6 \mathrm{O}_{2}(\mathrm{aq}) \rightarrow 6 \mathrm{CO}_{2}(\mathrm{aq})+6 \mathrm{H}_{2} \mathrm{O}(\mathrm{l})+ \text{energy}

The energy in the above reaction is heat energy.

Explanation:

The "decomposition of vegetable waste" is done by the 'action of microbes'. These microbes break down the vegetable compounds and convert it into manure and release gases in environment. Usually a decomposition reaction absorbs energy but in case of 'decomposition of vegetable waste', energy is released.
