The denominator of a fraction is 2 less than twice the numerator. If the numerator and denominator are both increased by 1 the fraction becomes 3/5. Find the fraction.

let the numerator be x
denominator = 2x - 2
fraction = x/ 2x -2
ATP,
x +1/ 2x - 2 + 1 = 3/5
=>x + 1/ 2x - 1 =3/5
=> 5(x + 1) = 3 (2x - 1)
=> 5x + 5 = 6x - 3
=>5x - 6x = -3 - 5
=> -x = -8
=> x = 8
