Given :

  • The denominator of a fraction is 2 more than its denominator.
  • If numerator is increased by 1 and deniminator is increased by 3 then the number obtained is 2/3.

To Find :

  • The original fraction

Solution :

\longrightarrow\tt{Let\:the\:Numerator\:be=x}

\longrightarrow\tt{Then, Denominator=2+x}

Now :

If numerator is increased by 1 and denominator is increased by 3 then the number obtained is 2/3.So,

\longrightarrow\tt{Numerator=x+1}

\longrightarrow\tt{Denominator=2+x+3}

\longrightarrow\tt{5+x}

A.T.Q :

\longrightarrow\tt{\dfrac{x+1}{5+x}=\dfrac{2}{3}}

=\longrightarrow\tt{3(x+1)=2(5+x)}

\longrightarrow\tt{3x+3=10+2x}

\longrightarrow\tt{3x-2x=10-3}

\longrightarrow\tt{1x=7}

\longrightarrow\tt\bold{x=7}

The Value of x is 7...

Therefore :

\longrightarrow\tt{Numerator=x}

\longrightarrow\tt\bold{7}

\longrightarrow\tt{Denominator=2+x}

\longrightarrow\tt{2+7}

\longrightarrow\tt\bold{9}

So , The new fraction is 7/9
