Let the numerator be x.
Then the denominator is 3x .

Fraction is x/3x .

 \frac{x + 2}{3x}  = 1
x+2 = 3x

3x-x = 2

2x = 2

x=1

The denominator is 3(1) = 3 .
The numerator is 1 .

The original fraction is 1/3 .
