Let numerator = x
denominator = x+8
If 5 is added,
numerator = x+5
denominator = x+8+5
= x +13
(x+5) / (x+13) = 1/2
2(x+5) = 1(x+13)
2x + 10 = x + 13
2x-x = 13-10
x = 3
fraction = 3/11
denominator = x+8
If 5 is added,
numerator = x+5
denominator = x+8+5
= x +13
(x+5) / (x+13) = 1/2
2(x+5) = 1(x+13)
2x + 10 = x + 13
2x-x = 13-10
x = 3
fraction = 3/11
