let the numerator be x.

the denominator be 2x-1.

x-3/2x-1 = 1/7.

7(x-3) = 1(2x-1)

7x-21 =2x - 1

7x - 2x = -1+21

5x = 20

x = 20/5

x= 4

numerator = 4

demoninator = 2x - 1 = 2× 4 - 1 = 7

fraction = 4/7
