by 18. If numerator is increased by 7 and denominator is
decreased by 3 the number obtained is 4/3. Find the rational

the denominator be x + 18

According to the question,

 \frac{x + 7}{x + 18 - 3}  =  \frac{4}{3}

 \frac{x + 7}{x + 15}  =  \frac{4}{3}

Doing cross multiplication

 3x + 21 = 4x+ 60

 - 60 + 21 = 4x - 3x

 - 39 = x
