the denominator of a rational number is greater than is numerator by 4 if the numerator is increased by 11 and the denominator is decreased by 1 the new number became 7/3 find the original number​

Let the numerator be x.

Denominator=x+4

According to the question,

x+11/x+4-1=7/3

x+11/x+3=7/3

7(x+3)=3(x+11)

7x+21=3x+33

7x-3x=33-21

4x=12

x=12/4

x=3

Therefore numerator is 3

denominator=3+4=7

Oringinal number=3/7
