let the d = x
:. x / x+5
if n inc. by 11, d dec. by 14
then.... x+11 / x+5-14
acc to ques. = x+11 / x+5-14 = 5
:. x+11 / x-9 = 5
:. x+11 = 5(x-9)
:. x+11 = 5x - 45
:. 11+45 = 5x-x
:. 56 = 4x
:. 56/4 (then we do cancellation by 2)
= 28/2 = 14/1 = 14
:. x = 14
so, n = 14
d = x+5 = 14+5 = 19
:. orig no. = 14/19
Checking...
14/19
= 14/19+5
= 14/24
= 14+11/24-14
= 25/10 (then, cancellation by 2)
= 5/2
=5 (by cancelling off 2)
and there you have your answer :D
