The denominator of a rational number is greater than itz numerator by 3 .If denominator is increased by 14 and denominator is decreased by 3,the new beacame 11/4 .what is the original number​

numerator =x

denominator=x+3

according to question

x+14. 11

--------- = ------

x+3-3. 4

4(x+14)=11(x+3-3)

4(x+14)=11*x

4x + 56=11x

56=11x-4x

56=7x

x=56/7

x=8

therefore,

numerator=x=8

denominator=x+3=8+3=11

original rational number=8/11
