LINEAR EQUATION PROBLEM SOLVING!

To Find : The fraction

Let us assume, the numerator of the fraction be "x"

And the denominator of the fraction be "y".

Then the fraction will be :-

Fraction = x/y

It is Given :- Denominator = 2 ( Numerator ) + 4

y =  2x + 4

This equation also written as :-

2x - y + 4 = 0

Now, According to the given Question we are having:-

y - 6 = 12 ( x - 6 )

y - 6 = 12x - 72

12x - y - 66 = 0

Now, we get two equations which are listed below :-

2x - y + 4 = 0     ------- ( i )

12x - y - 66 = 0  ------- ( ii )

Subtract eq ( i ) from ( ii )

10x - 70 = 0

x = 7

Put the value of x in eq ( i ), we get :- ( for getting the value of y )

2x - y + 4 = 0

14 - y  + 4 = 0

y = 18

Hence, the fraction will be :-

7/18.

Concluding the whole answer :-

\implies\boxed{\mathsf{THE\:REQUIRED\:FRACTION\:=\:7/18.}}
