This is physics .....

Due to refraction

When light travels from denser to rarer medium....it bends away from normal finally when the light ray reached our eye we feel that the light rays are coming from O'.....this makes us feel that the base is at O' which is higher than the actual position....i.e., depth is lower than the actual....
