Answer: The First Word War had a devastating effect on the industrial sector of Tsarist Russia:
Explanation:
- The immense number of casualties and the drainage of money and supply resulted in very few income opportunities for the Russian peasants.
- The country was cut off from all the suppliers of industrial goods due to the German Control of the Baltic Sea. Industrial equipment disintegrated very quickly and by 1916 railway lines started breaking down.
- Able-bodied workers from factories and workshops were called for the war causing a scarcity in production and hence lot of these workshops and factories producing essential supplies had to shut down.
- Huge supplies of grains were sent to feed the army and as for the people in the cities, there was a huge scarcity of flour and bread. By the winter of 1916, riots in bread shops were common.
All the incidents during the 1st WW caused huge losses in the industries of Russia causing a resentment of people.
