Let the bigger number be a and smaller number be b
Given a - b = 8......(1)
And 2+a=3b......(2)
On Solving we get
a-b= 8
a-3b= -2
=> 2b=10
=> b=5
In 1st equation substitute the value of b to get a
Therefore, a= 8+5 =13

➡HERE IS YOUR ANSWER⬇

Let, the numbers are a and b with a > b.

Given that the difference between the numbers is 8 and also when 2 is added with a, then the value (2+a) is equalled to thrice the smaller number.

Then,

a - b = 8 .....(i)

and

a + 2 = 3b .....(ii)

Subtracting (ii) from (i), we get

(a - b) - (a + 2) = 8 - 3b

or, - b - 2 = 8 - 3b

or, 2b = 10

or, b = 5

So, b = 5

From (ii), putting b = 5, we get

a + 2 = 3.5

or, a = 15 - 2

or, a = 13

So, a = 13

Therefore, the required numbers are

13 and 5.
