Let longer side be y
Diagonal is equal to 9+x
Longer side=81+x square+17x
Since if we could see diagonal is hypotenuse ,shorter side is adjacent and longer side is opposite
According to Pythagorean’s therom hypotenuse square is equal to sum of opposite square and adjacent square
Therefore
(9+x)^2=x^2+y^2
On solving we get
Y=81+x^2+17x
