GIVEN,

Diagonal= 24cm

length= 20cm of a rectangle.

TO FIND,

The perimeter of the rectangle.

SOLUTION,

A rectangle is a 4-sided figure with unequal length and breadth.

here the given length is 20cm

as we know,

DIAGONAL =\sqrt{LENGHT^{2} + BREADTH^{2} }

hence substituting values of diagonal and length we get,

24 =\sqrt{20^{2}+ BREADTH^{2}  }

squaring both sides,

24^{2} = 20^{2}+ BREADTH^{2}

576= 400+ BREADTH^{2}

BREADTH^{2} = 576-400

BREADTH^{2} = 176\\

putting root on both sides,

BREADTH=\sqrt{176\\} \\\\\\BREADTH=13.266

now the perimeter of a rectangle is

PERIMETER= 2( LENGTH+BREADTH)

PERIMETER= 2( 20+13.266)

PERIMETER= 2* 33.266

PERIMETER= 66.532.

HENCE THE PERIMETER OF THE RECTANGLE IS 66.532 cm^{2}
