altitude =( 5×5 )-(4×4)
= 25-16
=9
square root of 9 =3

therefore the area of rectangle = l×b
= 4×3
=12

l = 4 , b= 3

this is your answer....

Solution :

Here, Applying pythaogram theorm:

Let, other side be x cm
 =  >  {4}^{2}  +  {x}^{2}  =  {5}^{2}  \\  =  > 16 +  {x}^{2}  = 25 \\    =>  {x}^{2}  = 9 \\  =  > x =  \sqrt{9}  = 3cm
Now, Area of rectangle= Legth* breadth

= 4*3= 12cm^2
