Let the side = a

a^2 + a^2 = 4^2 = 16

a^2 = 8 ..... Area = 8 Sq cm

Area of another square = 2 x area of first square = 2 x 8 = 16 sq cm (let the side =b)

So b^2= 16

(Diagonal)^2 = 2 x b^2 = 2 x16 = 32 Sq cm

Diagonal = Root of (32) = 4 root(2)
