Let the side of square be 'a'.
Now sq rt of  2 (a^2) = sq rt. 12
                 = 2 (a^2) = 12
                 = a^2 = 12/2 = 6.
Area of square is a^2. which is equal to 6.
The answer is 6 sq. units

Hello, let side of square be x. Then in triangle, apply Pythagoras theorem, x^2+x^2=12 by solving equation we get x^2=6and we know that area of square is side*side=x^2=6. So, the answer is 6
