diagonals of a rhombus are perpendicular bisectors of each other

thus by Pythagorean theorem
 {(\frac{1}{2}  \times 16)}^{2}  +  {( \frac{1}{2} \times 12) }^{2}  =  {side }^{2}  \\  \\  {8}^{2}  +   {6}^{2}  =  {side }^{2}  \\  \\ 64 + 36 =  {side }^{2} \\ 100 =  {side}^{2}   \\  \\ side = 10 \: cm
