Solution :-
Given,
- Ratio of diagonals = 3 : 4
- Longer diagonal = 12 cm
We need to find ,
- Area of rhombus = ?
Let the given ratio be a part of ‘x’
Now , the longer diagonal is 4x
[ °.° 3 < 4 ]
→ 4x = 12
→ x = 12 ÷ 4
→ x = 3cm
Now , finding other diagonal .
→ 3x = other diagonal
→ 3(3)
→ Other diagonal = 9cm
Now , finding area of rhombus
Area of rhombus = 1/2 × d₁ × d₂
Substituting known values,
⇒ Area of rhombus = 1/2 × 12 × 9
⇒ Area of rhombus = 6 × 9
⇒ Area of rhombus = 54 cm²
Hence , area of rhombus = 54cm²
