Given :-

Diameter of the cylinder = 14 cm

Height of the cylinder = 10 cm

To Find :-

The total surface area of the cylinder.

Analysis :-

First find the radius by dividing the given diameter by 2.

Then find the TSA of the cylinder by substituting the values in it's respective formula.

Solution :-

We know that,

  • d = Diameter
  • h = Height
  • r = Radius
  • TSA = Total Surface Area

Given that,

Diameter (d) = 14 cm

Height (h) = 10 cm

Finding the radius,

\sf Radius=\dfrac{Diameter}{2}

\sf Radius=\dfrac{14}{2} =7 \ cm

Therefore, the radius is 7 cm

By the formula,

\underline{\boxed{\sf Total \ Surface \ Area=2 \pi r(r+h)}}

Substituting their values,

\sf TSA= 2 \times \dfrac{22}{7} \times 7 (7+10)

\sf TSA=44 \times 17

\sf TSA=748 \  cm^{2}

Therefore, the TSA of the cylinder in 748 cm²
