Answer:

cylinder area =πR²H

so substitute radius and height in it

3.14×14²×40

=24617.6

volume = 24617.6

The diameter of a cylinder is 28 cm and its height is 40 cm . Find the curved surface area , total surface area and the volume of the cylinder.

 \bold{ \underbrace{ \red{Solution}}}

Given :-

  • Diameter of cylinder = 28cm
  • Height of cylinder = 40cm

ⅰ) Find the curved surface area ?

sol. → We know that CSA of cylinder is 2πrh

∴ \: 2 \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times 14 \times 40

 = 88 \times 40 =  3520cm {}^{2}

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

ⅱ) Total surface area ?

Sol. → we know that TSA of cylinder is 2πr (h + r)

∴ \: 2 \times   \frac{22}{7}  \times 14 \: (14 + 40)

88(54) = 88 \times 54

 = 4752cm {}^{2}

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

ⅲ) The volume of the cylinder. ?

Sol. → We know that volume of cylinder is πr2h

∴ \frac{22}{7}  \times 14 \times 14 \times 40

 = 44 \times 14 \times 40

 = 24640cm3

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
